Course Aims

To enable trainees to gain the Institute of Health and Care Development (Edexcel) FPOS Intermediate qualification.

Suitable Candidates

This course is for employees who require an enhanced level of first aid training to that provided by a First Aid at Work course.

Pre-Course Requirements

Candidates must be physically able to carry out the procedures detailed in the course syllabus and be able to kneel to administer basic Life Support.

Assessment Method

The course is assessed by:
  • A written knowledge assessment
  • A practical assessment
Trainees must attend all training sessions and be successful in the both parts of the assessment to be awarded a First FPOS Intermediate certificate.

Qualification Endorsement

The First Person on Scene qualifications are clinically endorsed by the Faculty of Pre-Hospital Care (Edinburgh), the leading clinical body for pre-Hospital Care in the UK.
